About me

Don’t you think that food has become the most important topic for many in the last years?

I see more and more people interested in going out or cooking special dishes at home, in cooking classes, or in healthy food, in the history of gastronomy or in the value of wines… And I also see people (especially among my loved ones) who, whenever they go on trips around the world, the first thing they want to know is the enogastronomic identity of that place. How else could you get to know a country if not through it´s passion for food and traditions? Food and wine means culture, patience, history, nature, geography.

I decided to take you through all these stories, recipes and wonderful places, because I have gathered enough experience in last years to be your guide or host among tastes and histories. Therefore, I’m Silvana. A Transylvanian girl from Cluj, established in Bucharest in 2003.

Since childhood I was surrounded by the most mouth-watering tastes and smells, because both my mother and my grandmothers loved to cook. They used to fill the table with the most delicious dishes and enjoyed entertaining their gusts. After my university graduation in Psycho-pedagogy, I moved to Bucharest where I found a job at an Executive Search company.

I believe that my real passion for cooking developed the moment I took over the management of ˝Cafepedia˝ and I got involved in the elaboration of the new menu. Then I started to do a lot of research, and obviously I had to test everything I found most interesting. From that moment, I don´t remember having lived another day without cooking something or at least being in the mood for eating something delicious.

In 2005, I started working for the La Mama Restaurants as a Human Resources Director. Nowadays, I’m more involved in elaborating and creating uniformity in the menus between locations. I always go back to what I know best: my passion for cooking and for aesthetics so as to properly take care of my guests.

I should also add that in 2012, wishing me to go to another level with the gastronomic side, I attended the qualification course in the cook’s job, and in 2014 I had the opportunity to do an internship in a gourmet restaurant near Paris, where I learned a lot from the backstage of the job. In a country that wrote (and write) history in culinary field, it was one of the most thrilling times.

I just finished my Master in “Competitive technologies, vine-cultivation and wine-making management and marketing” in the U.S.A.M.V. Bucharest: you can therefore rely on me that the tours through the wine world will be more instructive than ever. I expect you to look for me, to visit me, and to choose one of my classes or expeditions together, where gastronomy and oenology will become more than a mere experience.

A living mind is always stimulated by new experiences.

I look forward to writing to you,

Silvana Borza
